The Law of Forced Efficiency

This law says that, "There is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing."

You Always Find the Time
When you run out of time and the consequences for non-completion of a key task or project can be really serious, you always seem to find the time to get it done, often at the very last minute. You start early, you stay late and you drive yourself to complete the job rather than to face the negative consequences that would follow if you didn't get it completed within the time limit.

Rule: "There will never be enough time to do everything you have to do."

You Are Already Overwhelmed
The fact is that the average person today is working at 110% to 130% of capacity. And the jobs and responsibilities just keep piling up. Everyone has stacks of reading material they still have to go through. One study concluded recently that the average executive has 300-400 hours of reading and projects backlogged at home and at the office.

What this means is that you will never be caught up. Get that out of your mind. All you can hope for is to be on top of your most important responsibilities. The others will just have to wait.

Deadlines Can Be Counterproductive
Many people say that they work better under the pressure of deadlines. Unfortunately, years of research indicate that this is seldom true.

Under the pressure of deadlines, often self-created through procrastination and delay, people suffer greater stress, make more mistakes, and have to do redo more tasks, than under any other conditions. Often the mistakes that are made when people are working under tight deadlines lead to defects and cost overruns that lead to substantial financial losses in the long-term. Sometimes the job actually takes much longer to complete when people rush to get the job done at the last minute and then have to redo it.

The Key Question You Should Ask
The key question you can ask is: "What is the most valuable use of my time, right now?"

This is the core question of time management. This is the key to overcoming procrastination and becoming a highly productive person. Every hour of every day, there is an answer to this question. Your job is to ask yourself the question, over and over again, and to always be working on the answer to it, whatever it is.

Do first things first and second things not at all. As Goethe said, "The things that matter most must never be at the mercy of the things that matter least."

The more accurate your answers to this question, the easier it will be for you to set clear priorities, to overcome procrastination and to get started on that one activity that represents the most valuable use of your time.

Action Exercises
Take a few minutes each day and sit quietly where you cannot be disturbed. During this time, let your mind relax and just think about your work and activities, without stress or pressure.

In almost every case, during this time of solitude, you will receive wonderful insights and ideas that will save you enormous amounts of time when you apply them back on the job. Often you will experience breakthroughs that will change the direction of your life and work.

Develop a Prosperity Consciousness

The starting point of all riches is the development of a prosperity consciousness. You must become a financial success in your thinking long before you achieve it in your reality. Both poverty and riches are the result of a state of mind, and the most important single step you ever take on the road to wealth and financial independence is the decision to change your thinking, to impress into your mind an unshakable belief that you can and will achieve your financial goals. This must happen before anything else happens.

When I was growing up, I was fascinated by stories of successful men and women and how they made and lost their fortunes, and then made them over again. I read about the importance of a prosperity consciousness in the book, Think And Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill, several times. But I never fully understood what it meant until about five years ago. Then it hit me and I've never been quite the same since. Every aspect of my life has improved dramatically, especially in the area of accumulating wealth, since I finally understood what it meant by a prosperity consciousness.

Here are two of the most exciting principles ever discovered in the long search by mankind for the secrets of health, happiness and great personal wealth.

The first principle is this. All causation is mental.
All causation is mental. That means that everything that you are or ever will be will be as a result of how you use your mind. You are merely a mind with a body to carry it around with. The entire man made world that you see is simply an expression of thought. Your entire life is an expression of your own thinking. And since the quality of your thinking determines the quality of your life, if you improve the quality of your thinking, you must, you will, inevitably improve the quality of your life.

The second principle is what we call the law of expectations.
This law says that whatever you expect with confidence, positive or negative, becomes your reality. If you confidently expect to succeed, if you confidently expect to learn something from every experience, if you confidently expect to become wealthy as a result of applying your talents and abilities to your opportunities and you maintain that attitude of confident expectations long enough, it will become your reality. It will give you a positive optimistic cheerful attitude that will cause people to want to help you, and will cause things to happen the way you want them to happen.

Here are two things you can do immediately to practice these principles in your day to day life:

First Step
Start thinking today in a positive, optimistic, confident way about personal and financial success. Continually imagine what differences it would make in your life if you were financially independent. This is the starting point of developing a prosperity consciousness.

Second Step
Develop your own attitude of positive expectations. Look for the good in every situation. Look for the valuable lesson in every setback or difficulty. Be positive and cheerful about everything that happens and you will be amazed at the difference it makes in your life.

Problem Solving Strategies - Three Great Ones

Your problem solving strategies determine how effectively you deal with everything from creating new ideas to solving the routine problems of life and business. There are many specific techniques for solving problems, but a good strategy is a more general "plan of attack" that makes it all work. Here are three.

The Problem Solving Triage Strategy

Emergency personal use triage as a strategy to decide which patients to attend to first. The questions that determine this are, "Who'll die regardless of treatment?" "Who'll survive without immediate treatment?" and "Who'll survive only if they get treatment soon?" Of course, the latter are treated first.

In general problem solving, the important triage questions are:

1. In this problem, which parts are unlikely to have any solutions of value?

2. In this problem, which parts aren't too serious?

3. In this problem, which parts can be most profitably solved?

This problem solving strategy starts then, by breaking a problem into it's components and first working on those in the third category. Then you work on those in the second. Unsolvable parts of the problem can be given another look later.

An example: Suppose your problem is disorganization in your office. The smaller problems of which it is composed might include, "too messy," "not enough space, " "not enough time," "hard to find things," and "too many tasks." That latter may be unresolvable for the moment (category 1), so you ignore it. Messiness may not be a big problem by itself (category 2), so you start with the problem with the most biggest potential payback: "not enough time." New habits and procedures which free up time mean getting more work done, and having more time to work on the other parts of the problem.

A Group Strategy

Many problems just are too much for one person to solve. You may need to use a group of people to help. They might brainstorm initially, to get more ideas. Later you can assign various parts of the problem to individuals of the group.

Suppose your problem is "finding new ways to raise money for your environmental group." You could have one person research and list all the various ways that non-profit organizations raise funds. One person could look at various business strategies that might be used in some way. A third member of the group might look at what you have done in the past, to see which methods worked before.

Using Problem Solving Techniques Systematically

One of the simplest problem solving strategies is to just systematically apply ten or so of your favorite techniques. Create a list of those that have worked best for you, and use each one to get as many ideas as you can. After this creative process is finished, you can sort through the possible solutions to see which are most likely to work.

For example, if you need to design a better car, you start with the first problem solving technique on your list, which could be "assumption challenging." This involves challenging all assumptions, like the one that a car needs tires or doors. The next technique might be "changing perspective," so you try that one for a while. Work through ten techniques, and you'll have a lot of ideas and potential solutions, making this perhaps the most fun of these problem solving strategies.

Need a new approach to those problems? Then try these powerful problem solving strategies.

Experience the Law of Attraction

More and more the term Law of Attraction is gaining publicity and becoming known to mainstream America. The big question I'm always being asked is "Is it real and does it work?"

The answer is a definitive YES, if you understand the fundamental principles of the attraction process and how to accurately apply them to get the results you want.

The Law of Attraction Is Already Working for You
The first thing you need to understand is the Law of Attraction has been, currently is and always will be working for you. It's a complete part of your life just like breathing. The Law of Attraction is always in play, believe it or not, bringing into your life the things you focus your attention on with the greatest clarity.

In the most simple terms the Law of Attraction is defined as "Like Attracts Like," meaning "you get what you think about" whether your thoughts are conscious or unconscious, negative or positive. Although this statement is correct, I define the Law of Attraction as follows, giving you the basis to intentionally attract what you want into your life:

"Anyone who regularly concentrates with desire, belief and expectancy on a particular thing, condition or circumstance will manifest it into their life."

Making Your Thoughts Determine Your Experience
The most important aspect of intentionally using the Law of Attraction to get what you want is understanding that it takes more than just thinking to make it work; it takes desire, belief and expectancy. You must not only have the desire to focus on what you want, but you must have the desire to take action to achieve your objective.
Next, you must have belief. When intentionally manifesting, you must believe in yourself, believe in your right to have what you seek and believe that it is possible for you to obtain it, without question.

And third, you must trust in your belief while having a genuine expectation that you will obtain your desire, even when you are unsure how it will manifest. The "how" is not your concern; your goal is to expect without reason or justification that you will obtain what you desire.

When you combine focusing your attention on what you want with desire, belief and expectancy, you unleash the power of the law and begin to command it.

Experience the Law of Attraction Yourself
The Law of Attraction is real and it does work. And, to repeat myself, it's been an active part of your life since you arrived here. It's not rocket science, there's nothing mystical about it and anyone can use it to their greatest advantage. The challenge we face as humans is we make this "process" much harder than it is. So let's simplify it!

There are three steps to getting the law to work for you:

First, determine your desire. Identify what you want, be crystal clear about it and get it down on paper. You have to make sure your intention is positive and absolutely focused on your desire. And you have to be able to put your desire into words in a way that will make the Law of Attraction work to your greatest advantage.

Second, you must align with your desire. In order to become aligned with your desire, you must "feel" good about what you want. After you put your intention down on paper, read it out loud and see how it makes you feel. If you feel good, then you know you have clearly aligned with what you want. It you don't feel good, then you either do not believe it is possible for you to obtain or you weren't crystal clear defining what you want.

The third and final step is to permit your desire to manifest. At this point you must expect that you will receive that which you want. There can be no doubt of any kind, just expectation that you will receive your desire. When you think about your desire from this point on, always picture yourself "already" having it and enjoy how it makes you feel.

Be Humble and Grateful
As you learn and practice how to use the law correctly you will begin to bring into your life the things, conditions and circumstances you want.

When you start to use it, be patient with yourself and your progress. It may take a bit to get the hang of it, but I promise you once you understand how it works for you, your life will change for the better in the most amazing ways.

Second, be humble and grateful. Be grateful for all that you currently have as well as all you will (and do) receive. Respect the power of Law of Attraction and openly share it with others.

The Law of Attraction is for everyone, just like the air we breathe. Use it often, use it openly and most of all, use it wisely.

What would you like to change in your life? What's missing from it? Whether you are seeking better health, greater wealth or consistent life-long happiness, understanding how and why the Law of Attraction really works will help you to experience the power of it anytime you want.

The Law of Attraction - How are you using it?

The Law of Attraction (LOA) has been touted as giving you the ability to manifest your dreams, but what’s the truth behind it?

The premises at the base of the LOA are:
1. Everything is an energy form that vibrates at a certain frequency
2. Thoughts are a non physical form of energy
3. Each of us can be in charge of our thoughts and those thoughts create our reality
4. The thoughts we think (either consciously or unconsciously), have a certain vibration to it
5. The world is about balance and so in order for the energy to be in balance, the thought vibration needs to "attract a match" , hence the LOA.

This is a universal principle and in science it’s called Quantum Physics, you either agree with this or not.

So with this understanding you may say, “Ok, all I have to do is control my thoughts and I’ll attract whatever I think of.” That may be true, although most of us are not conscious enough to be in charge of our thoughts. What ends up happening is that you try to think in a more positive way for a few minutes and then the phone rings and you fall back into the old thought patterns which becomes you dominant mode of thinking again. Nothing then changes and you’re back at square one.

The truth is that you do have the power to create something different for yourself without the mental struggle. It will require you to bring something though, your PRESENCE.

What does that mean? Well… firstly, understand that there’s a mind where thoughts arise and that works through whatever circumstances you grew up with (unconsciously), then there is YOU, the observing presence, the one that’s aware, Consciousness.

The fact that you can be aware of your thoughts means that there is a gap between this one that can observe and the thoughts. So if you practice on being aware of what you think, say and do, then this it gets easier to notice whether your thoughts and actions support what you want or not. The intention is to get a good look at how you, as an ego, operate.

Once you start this you’ll see that there’s virtually not a moment that something isn’t happening during your waking hours. You’re either doing something mundane and lost in thoughts (or lost in the TV’s drama’s) or, you’re doing something that requires you to concentrate, in which case you bring a more presence. Start with when you’re brushing your teeth and see where your mind goes!

So to implement the LOA you now have two choices:

1. The old way of visualising what you want everyday and hoping something will change, or;

2. Focus on being present so that where you are right now feels good and you trust that whatever shows up in the next moment will be fine also. Through the presence, you’ll get to see the negative thoughts and then you can simply allow them to keep flowing through so that you “stick” to you. In this way you align with what is and your vibrations will be much more benign.

How to Trust Yourself More and Empower Your Business

Trust - or a lack of trust - impacts every area of your life and your life’s work. You must trust yourself in order to feel confident; to stand out and bring your business forward. To become more visible, to make your work and your business more visible so you can help more people and prosper, you have to trust yourself.

How do we develop trust - or greater trust - in ourselves? Self-trust is built one decision at a time.

Make a Decision. Making decisions is empowering. Ambivalence or wavering, hesitating or waiting to make important decisions erodes your self-trust and your power

Each time that you hold back from making a decision because of uncertainty or fear, you give yourself a disempowering message about you. Indecisiveness becomes a habit based in lack of self-trust. A lot of your precious time, energy and attention is lost on indecision.

Every time you make a decision you are freed up. Your energy is set free!

You are faced with thousands of business decisions every year. From what investments to make in you as a business owner, to what investments to make in your business, to what you offer through your business...

Make a Decision Based on What’s True for You. Trusting yourself grows by making decisions based on what is true for you. How do you tell? It feels right.

Even if it takes your breath, a decision that is in alignment with what’s true for you will feel right. Every one of these decisions that you make builds a pattern and a consciousness of self-trust.

To make a decision that builds self-trust - whether that is to do something, buy something, to take on a particular client, offer a program, price an offering, take a course or hire a coach - that decision needs to feel right for you.

Not partially right, or maybe right, but right. Not right for someone else, not right for the way you were taught, not right for you last year, but right for you, right now.

Three Actions You Can Take to Increase Your Self-Trust Now!

1. Write down all the pending decisions you haven’t made.

2. Take each one separately. Tune in to what’s true for you (what feels right?) and make each decision based on that. Then cross it off your list. It will feel great.

3. Make a decision to make 3 new and conscious business decisions each day. When you make this decision, the others will light up for you. Tune in with each one, and make the decision that is true for you.

Make decisions based on what is true for you! Each one will increase your self-trust and your self-confidence. It will change your life and change your business.

Step Into Your Greatness!
One decision at a time!

Trust - or a lack of trust - impacts every area of your life and your life’s work. You must trust yourself in order to feel confident; to stand out and bring your business forward. To become more visible, to make your work and your business more visible so you can help more people and prosper, you have to trust yourself.

Living a Life of Gratitude Will Attract Abundance

We cannot possibly realize the immense power that comes from our thoughts. What we focus on grows…that is the law of the universe. When we live our lives with gratitude or appreciation for what we have, we occupy our minds with positivity. When we focus on what we are lacking, our minds become filled with negativity that breeds thoughts of bitterness, jealousy, and resentment. Living a life of gratitude is what brings abundance into our lives. The more grateful we are for all gifts large and small, the more abundance we attract to us. Having gratitude means being thankful for the many gifts and blessing we have.
Many people say that they are grateful; still they find themselves experiencing negative thoughts when life doesn’t go the way they expect it to. And many people say that they have little to be grateful for, when in actuality they have much more than they think. It’s all based on point of view, and our point of view is something we consciously control. We all have the ability to shift our thinking. We can take any situation in life and find something good in it, if that is our inclination. Good and bad things happen in life every day. What outlook we choose to focus on is entirely up to us.

Quantum Physic studies are verifying that matter and reality can be changed by our thoughts. The Law of Attraction, one of the five fundamental principles of existence, tells us that “like attracts like.” It is a scientific fact that thoughts are energy. Neurons in our brain produce thought. So if energy follows energy, than energy follows thought. To put it in simpler terms, we attract what we put out. The universe isn’t biased – it doesn’t decide if a thought is good or bad. It just responds to the vibrations we put out there. When we live life with sincere gratitude and appreciation, we change the vibration of our energy and we attract more of what we want. How we think is what we get…and gratitude is the key.

When we focus on what we lack, we create blockages and limitations. We become imprisoned by the vibration of our negative energy. As a result, we attract what we think, which in this case is negativity, while repelling the very things we desire. No one would deliberately disrupt the flow of abundance that comes into their life. Those that do it don’t realize that they are doing it.

Some of us have already, or will gladly accept this truth at face value and apply it. For skeptics and naysayers, the only proof is the proof itself; living a life of gratitude is the only way to prove its effectiveness and to understand the immense power of it. The universe is infinitely abundant…we just have to allow it and learn how to work in harmony with it. We accomplish this through the practice of positive thinking; through a conscious effort to “go with the flow.”

Having gratitude does not mean denying that problems exist. The experiences and challenges we face in the course of our lifetimes are many. What is does mean is incorporating a simple practice that makes it easier to accept these experiences. The gift of empowerment comes once gratitude is firmly placed in our lives. Then we have that accomplishment to add to the list of things we are grateful for. It is an endless cycle that goes round and round. Developing this practice and changing our perspective, therefore allowing abundance to flow, opens us up to all the possibilities that exist in the universe. The ultimate goal is to keep the abundance in a constant flow. We never want to hoard our abundance; that will only block the flow. By sharing our gifts, we stay in harmony with the universe.

One of the most important messages to take away from all of this is that the universe has perfect timing. Everything happens when it is supposed to, not because we want it to. Honoring that universal truth will soften the blow of every disappointment we may face in life. To quote Brian Tracy, “Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.”

A life of gratitude will give you immense power in your life. What you focus on grows into abundance…that is the law of attraction. If you examine your life with positivity, you will discover all the abundance that already exists for you. Our point of view is something we consciously control. The universe is infinitely abundant…we just have to allow it and learn how to work in harmony with it.
